He/She is in complete molecular remission for ~ 2 years now. We spoke at length about the concept of treatment free remission ‘TFR’ and the current status of this question. Patient is in agreement with TKI discontinuation and monitoring BCR/ABL levels while off therapy.
We will monitor RT-PCR for BCR/ABL every month for the first 6 months, bimonthly for month 7-12, and every 3 months afterwards. We also discussed that we will promptly resume TKI therapy upon loss of major molecular response.
